INDUS increases investment in Selzer
Bergisch Gladbach, 6 December 2007 - INDUS Holding AG (ISIN: DE0006200108) has increased its shareholding in Selzer Fertigungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Driedorf-Roth, from 70 % to 85 %. This additional acquisition was made possible by Hans Joachim Selzer, who retired from his position as managing partner for reasons of age on 30 June 2007, selling 15 % of his shares in return for INDUS shares. Of the other shares in the company, 15 % will remain in the hands of the Selzer family, which is represented in the company’s management by Tobias Selzer.
Hans Joachim Selzer, who directed the company as managing partner for more than 30 years, will continue to accompany the Selzer Group closely in future and will be responsible for its international activities.
The Selzer Group has comprehensive expertise in the development and manufacture of complete, ready-to-install metal units for gearboxes, brakes and motors in particular. The profitable company covers the entire spectrum of services - from product development through prototype construction to serial production. In addition to its location in Driedorf-Roth, Selzer also has a production site in Vinhedo, Brazil. A further location is currently planned in the USA. This step makes sense strategically and will contribute to the further expansion of the group of companies.
In the past 2006 financial year, this specialist supplier to the vehicle and electronics industries generated sales of approximately Euro 83 million and had around 600 employees.
By acquiring further shares in Selzer Fertigungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG, INDUS Holding AG is maintaining its strategy of expanding its majority shareholdings in profitable niche companies. Including Selzer, its portfolio of shareholdings currently consists of 42 medium-sized companies.
